In the final part of the 10th anniversary celebration of ATRAC’s establishment, a meeting was held to strengthen cooperation, learn, and exchange professional insights among partners and stakeholders of the ‘PREVENT’ project. The meeting focused on the topic and issues of microplastics in the marine environment. ATRAC and the University of Montenegro were present as project partners, while other participants included representatives from CEDRE, MEKE Marine, REMPEC, VIKOME, and the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Portorož. ATRAC gave an introductory presentation to introduce the ‘PREVENT’ project to the participants, followed by a presentation on microplastics and the problems they cause when found in the marine environment. After the presentations, a discussion followed in which the meeting participants shared their experiences, asked questions, and pointed out the issues arising from the increasing presence of microplastics in the environment.
