On June 26, 2025, ATRAC participated in the exercise “Maritime Safety and Response Drill 2025”, held in the waters of the Port of Rijeka. The exercise was organized by the County Operational Center for the Implementation of the Contingency Plan in case of accidental marine pollution in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

Participants in the exercise included: Port Authority of Rijeka, “Rapska Plovidba”, Jadrolinija, Harbour Master’s Office Rijeka, Maritime Police, Adriatic Maritime Service, Dezinsekcija, Firefighting Association of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Fire Brigades of Rijeka and Opatija, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Police Department, and the County Institute of Emergency Medicine.

The aim of the exercise was to assess the effectiveness of coordination during crisis situations, as well as the operational readiness and cooperation of all involved services and authorities. The scenario simulated a collision between a catamaran and a ferry, which resulted in a fire on board, the rescue of injured people from the vessel and from the sea, and a case of accidental marine pollution requiring urgent intervention.

Participation in such exercises is crucial for strengthening preparedness and ensuring coordinated action among all stakeholders involved in the protection of human lives, the marine environment, and maritime safety.
