ATRAC participated in an international workshop in Istanbul
ATRAC participated in an international workshop on “Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Commitment and Synergy” held from November 12 to 14, 2024, in Istanbul. The workshop was organized by MOIG (Mediterranean Oil Industry Group) and MEKE Marine. Around fifty participants attended, representing ministries, the oil industry, equipment manufacturers, companies specialized in response to marine pollution, training and education centers, as well as representatives from international organizations, universities, port authorities, and consulting firms.
The workshop program consisted of eight sessions, including a visit to the Turkish National Maritime Safety Center. The topics covered in the sessions included: Contingency Planning & Regulatory and Legal Requirements, Recent Developed Projects in the Mediterranean Region, Response Equipment and New Technology, Oil Spill Response Services and Challenges, Oil Spill Modeling and Training, Waste Management and Wastewater Treatment, and NMSC – Türkiye (National Maritime Safety Center) duties and activities. In one of the sessions, ATRAC delivered a presentation on the topic “Protecting the Adriatic Marine Environment: Goals and Challenges.”
