From 15th to 16th of May 2024, ATRAC held a conference named ‘Eko-incident’ in Opatija, Croatia. The „Eko-incident“ conference is a result of recognizing the level of technological advancements and times that we live in. This conference is marked by high risk levels, and taking into consideration the theme of conference, the risk mainly refers to potential pollution sources, their prevention, response and recovery of environment. Cases of accidental pollution of the environment are complex situations of crisis that are impossible to evade, but it is possible to lower their negative effects by responding: timely, effectively, competently, technologically acceptable and in line with the law.

At this year’s edition of „Eko-incident“ conference, topics that were highlighted are in the field of water protection, such as legal framework, inspection procedures in pollution cases, international co-operation, methods of successful intervention, modern cleanup techniques, the importance of planning and educations, showcase of known cases, etc.

The participant of this conference were representatives of numerous Croatian and international organisations from Slovenia, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Finland.
