On June 4th, 2025, the exercise ZAREX 2025 was held in Zadar. The exercise was organized in cooperation between the County Operational Center of Zadar County (COC) and ATRAC, with the aim of testing response time and equipment efficiency in real-life conditions. The exercise was also attended by members of the Zadar Maritime Police, representatives of the specialized company Ciklon d.o.o., and members of the County Operational Center of Lika-Senj County.

The exercise began with the harbour master reporting a pollution incident to the 112 center. The pollution was simulated using popcorn. The location of the simulated pollution was between the Zadar port terminal and the island of Ugljan. The purpose of the exercise was to assess response time, the functionality of emergency contacts, and the use of booms and skimmers for pollution removal. Ciklon d.o.o. used its own equipment during the exercise to test the preparedness of their emergency response team for sudden pollution events.

The exercise concluded with a meeting during which ATRAC shared its observations and provided guidance for improvements in future exercises.
