Project ‘PREVENT’

The ‘PREVENT’ project is co-financed by EU funds and deals with marine environmental pollution issues within the Adriatic-Ionian region. The goal of the project is to develop innovative tools and methods capable of early detection, prevention, and disposal of waste in the marine environment, as well as to create an international network of stakeholders involved in marine environmental protection. The ultimate goal of the project is to strengthen the resilience of the Adriatic-Ionian region to climate change and disasters caused by human activity, such as sudden marine pollution. Partners in this project come from the following countries: Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. The total budget of the ‘PREVENT’ project is €1,588,033.12, and ATRAC’s budget for this project is €108,228.12. ATRAC’s role in this project is to conduct training for emergency services, hold workshops to raise awareness about marine environmental conservation, and share its knowledge with the goal of developing an international network of stakeholders. The expected duration of the project is from September 2024 to September 2027.
