On 21 January 2026, ATRAC held a table-top exercise and a final conference as part of the project “Capacity enhancing of the Albanian marine pollution preparedness and response system”. The table-top exercise and conference were held in Durrës, Albania, and were attended by representatives of various bodies responsible for marine management, as well as activities related to preparedness and response to accidental marine pollution incidents.

The table-top exercise was an ideal conclusion to this project, as participants, after attending training in October, had the opportunity to experience a situation involving response to accidental marine pollution and the pressures that arise in such circumstances. Through the final conference, ATRAC brought the project to a close and hopes that the combination of knowledge transfer, awareness raising, and practical training has strengthened Albanian capacities in combating environmental threats.
