Training course within the PEPSEA project
As part of the PEPSEA Project – Protecting the Enclosed Parts of the Sea in the Adriatic from Pollution, ATRAC has delivered a two-day training course on 22.-23.02.2021. in city of Zadar and the municipality of Sali on Dugi otok. Participants were members of the Zadar Public Fire Brigade and the Sali Voluntary Fire Brigade, and the training was based on response to accidental sea pollution in enclosed sea areas.

In addition to the training, there was a demonstration of equipment purchased within the project, which will be given for use to the Zadar County Fire Brigade. The second day of training was held in the municipality of Sali and was attended by representatives of the municipality, tourist board, nature park Telašćica and local residents as well as the media. After the training, participants were taken on a tour of the pilot site where part of the purchased equipment is situated.
This is the first out of four training courses that ATRAC plans to deliver in the PEPSEA project, which aims to increase the level of protection of the sea and coast from pollution from ships, platforms, and land sources and protect the lifestyle of the Adriatic coast and preserve the biodiversity of the Adriatic region.
